New constructionFast growingAlternate corridorDenton County

The alternate-corridor play. Everyone fights over the Dallas North Tollway; Northlake gives you new construction on I-35W and US 377 with northwest-of-Grapevine-Lake access. Population grew more than 200% between 2010 and 2020 and has more than doubled again since.

School districts

Who actually serves Northlake

Northwest ISD and Argyle ISD. Pecan Square is Northwest ISD (Daniel Elementary, Barksdale Middle opening August 2026, Byron Nelson High). Canyon Falls is split between the two.

What people get wrong here

Canyon Falls is genuinely split village by village — Northwest ISD for the western villages, Argyle ISD for several others. Same community, same signage, different district. I map this out before we tour, not after.

Communities worth knowing

  • Pecan Square (Hillwood)
  • Canyon Falls
  • Harvest (shared with Argyle)
